So, worlds between consoles...

So been reading around the webternets and I've come across some tidbits. Avid fans probably already know, but according to Kotaku, 4J studios is trying/wants to allow and be able to import 360 world saves into the One for Minecraft. According to a statement by Microsoft studios' Phil Spencer however, he says it wont be possible because of the difference in the size of the worlds.

We all thought it was impossible to regenerate the nether after all the updates, but they found a way. Why is it so inconceivable for the same to apply to the overworld. It may take more work, but couldnt you just code it so any chunks with changes by the player are unaltered and chunks that havent been changed get a redo? On PC, it is just randomly generated.

Wouldnt it be awesome if you could travel between your world and your friends within the game? It isnt too far fetched if they do use persistent servers for minecraft and do like an animal crossing kind of thing. For those lucky not to have played animal crossing, you can visit your friends worlds and share resources while in the game.
