So, let me tell you a Telltale...

It isn't exactly breaking news that Telltale announced a partnership on a project called Minecraft: Story Mode back in 2014. Well they have finally teased a little more about it, most notably that there *might* be details given at MineCon in the UK on July 4-5th.

"Telltale's series will mix new characters with familiar themes, in an entirely original Minecraft experience, inspired by the Minecraft community and the game that continues to inspire a generation," Telltale had included in their original announcement last year.

I actually was not part of the first adopters of Telltale games, having only bought the collection/season packs of their latest releases about 6 months ago. Based on first impressions of what I've seen, I'm glad they waited before tackling this franchise. Their first few Walking Dead games and even the Fables series were a bit wonky, with a few odd glitches/bugs/loading and stuttering. The recent releases though of the Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands have been a staggering improvement.

Don't expect amazing graphics, but the game play was given a much needed technical polish. The story and dialogue have been given a touch of the awesome, especially for the Tales from the Borderlands.

High hopes that they may even include cross-game (is that the term?) items/lore. Maybe exploring more about the mystery behind Music Disk 11? Maybe simply why you physiology is vastly different from the locals? Only MineCon will tell...

So, I've been a little busy...

Sorry about the long hiatus. Due to personal obligations and events beyond my control, I have been unable to post anything for awhile. Nowadays, what with the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One and all the hoopla over the new Minecraft port on the new console, I've had a lot of catching up to do.

Though I've mainly focused on the Xbox 360 version, I will start writing more about the Xbox one version. Although on a fun note, is anyone playing a physical copy of the Xbox 360 version on Xbox One, as it was announced to be backwards compatible now? I know it cannot play at the moment, as only Xbox Preview members can play a very select number of 360 games, as is shown here: http://j.gs/10373703/xbox

4J Studios has even been cranking out a lot of new content with its partners, even hinting at some possible Sony mash-up packs. Most of the Mash-up packs have been cross-platform, with a few Halo exceptions and a few character packs of protagonists exclusive to those console.

I will come bring more frequent updates. It will be a little sporadic at first, but I will come back full strength!

So, what have I been up to...

I know nobody asked, but I'm gonna tell ya. I'm going to try and bring my server/host back online. I might not be able to do it 24/7/365 like I tried in the past due to finances, but I can try at least having it open weekends, like friday through sunday. Maybe do it for a whole week if people want it.
Like I've said before: if you want it, you have to speak up.

Other than just an open survival world though, I might host different PvP or multiple "minigame" worlds. Just like before, this all depends on money and hardware. My Xbox 360 has been making whirring noises from the power block, and the hot summer here is even causing my a/c to give up.

Paying for electricity is also an issue. I know it may seem trivial, but look at my past posts where I figured the cost. (That being said, if my math is wrong, please tell me! I would rather be wrong than proven right.)

As always, thanks for reading. Feel free to leave a comment or hit me up on Xbox Live. My gamertag is: EvilFrank.

So, I apologize...

Sorry about the lack of content and the inability to provide a 24/7 minecraft server. If you haven't been following along, I tried for awhile to run a 24/7 open host for Minecraft on Xbox 360. For awhile, it was working very well. However, as I learned the hard way, an Xbox 360 uses much more electricity than I thought and I couldnt afford that additional cost among my other bills. I tried asking for help, but nobody wanted to pitch in, so I had to shut it down.

I learned a lot from this experience and I don't want to give uo just yet. With the impending release of Xbox One though, with the promise of Minecraft for the new console and persistent servers to host matches (possibly including Minecraft seeds) , the need for a 24/7 host seems old fashioned and a waste of time. Again, I loved doing it, but it made my electric bill twice as expensive in just two weeks or so of running it!

The biggest issue is what to do with this blog....ill probably change it up a bit. For the next awhile, just give you a place to learn about Mineceaft 360 updates. I might want to host Minecraft Mini-Games or something; using this blog as a way to communicate between players and upcoming games and/or ideas.

Thanks for your time in reading this and hope to provide more content for you in the future.
